To understand what the mark of the Beast is, we must first understand what the Mark of the Heavenly Father, Yahweh is. The Holy scripture make this very plain:

Genesis 1:33-34

Webster’s Dictionary gives definition of Saturday- The seventh and last day of the week.

13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israyl saying, verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations that ye may know that I am Yahweh that doth sanctify you (set you apart)

Not only are the weekly Sabbaths a SIGN but the APPOINTED FEAST DAYS are also a sign of Yahweh. Hebrew 4:4-10 says if we accept this Sign of Yahweh we will cease from our work on the Sabbath Day, just as Yahweh did from His. By obeying Yahweh, we have His Name in our Minds and Foreheads

Revelation 22:4 And they shall see His face and His Name shall be in their Foreheads

The Hebrew word for sign means MARK Strong’s Concordance #226

The Mark of Yahweh is the Keeping of the weekly seventh day sabbath and the appointed Feast Days.

THE MARK OF THE BEAST IS THIS:

And he causeth all both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads.

As the mark of Yahweh lets all the world know you worship Yahweh; so, the Mark of the Beast shows that you worship the likeness(idol) of the Beast.
Yahweh’s Mark causes us to observe Yahweh’s Sabbaths Day

To look for the Mark of the Beast, we must look for a Mark that would cause us to disobey the Laws of Yahweh. A substitute that would cause us to rest and worship on the days Yahweh did not make holy, which identifies us with the Beast and Marking us as ones who obey the Beastly system. the Beast’s sign comes through deception and lying.

Tears burned in my eyes, a lump formed in my throat and I could not speak. The cell in which that perfect man was confined to was bathed in a bluish light, which streamed in from a tiny shaft in the wall. The air was thick and stuffy.
He didn’t deserve this! He was such a good man, he had helped so many people! If only the Emperor could see everything Varlin had done, he would never have sentenced him to…I couldn’t even think the word.
‘Alexia,’ Varlin said quietly, ‘please don’t cry.’
I’d barely realized that tears were streaming down my cheeks. I wiped them away. ‘You’re a good man,’ I croaked.
‘But I led one of the greatest ever conspiracies against the throne. That’s treason. That’s why I’m going to hang.’

I seldom answer questions like these because new writers are usually so hyper-sensitive they break down when people don’t gush over every word they write. But I’m going to take a chance here. My opinion? You’ve got real potential; but your style is raw.

The biggest problem you have is "dialogue attribution," (He said, She said, etc.). You need to know that attributing dialogue is something you should do very sparingly. Once a conversation begins between two people we pretty much know who’s saying what to whom; and the attribution only slows down the process. Also, you repeat words too often.

"’You’re a patriot, Varlin!’ I choked out. ‘You’re a hero! You’re protecting the throne, not conspiring against it!"

Why not say, "’You’re a patriot, a hero! You’re protecting the throne, not conspiring against it!"

Do you see how much simpler and "cleaner" that sentence reads without attribution and overly repeated words?

As I say, you have potential. Keep writing — whatever you do, KEEP WRITING. And keep reading also, it will help to hone your craft. Good Luck.

I actually like it. Which is surprising, because some of the stories posted on here aren’t very good.
The dialogue is really well written, the writing itself is fairly well structured too.
There are a few places that don’t really flow as well as they could, but I’m assuming you intend to re-write this and edit it a bit more?
The only thing I can suggest is to expand your sentences more, utilize comma use to make it all fit together better. The sentences then won’t seem choppy or anything.
I dont actually mind where this is going, either. The plot itself seems well thought of and inspires me to read more.

Shouldn't the United States only give food and water to the Haitians and then immediately pull out?
It would be extremely prudent for the United StatesMilitary to just give food and water for some months to the Haitians and then pull completely out, leaving perhaps some relief agencies behind.The Haitians had very serious problems before the quake and will have serious problems in the future, as the Haitians cannot control their population and have devastated their entire environment, by ravaging their forests and destroying pretty much mother nature there. The US shuold not be responsible for the plight of the Haitian, this responsibility needs to fall completley and ultimately on all of the Haitians themselves and there people that are in the US Legally and Illegally need to do more for their brethren than US taxpayers. Its bad enough we have hundreds of thousands of Illegal Haitians that are running around the US and taking many of our jobs. I believe it was a huge mistake to just give these Illegal Haitians there "papers" automatically for 18 months, as that will only make matters worst. These Illegal Haitians are Felons by their very nature of being in the US Illegally and let’s get real and honest who really believes that these Illegal Haitians or any Haitian that somehow sneaks his/her way into the US Illegally is just going to leave once their supposed to by law believes then in Fairy Tales. We in the US need to treat all Illegal Immigrants the same and that means that absolutely no benefits at all should be given to an Illegal Immigrant who is by US law a Felon. All Illegal Immigrants need to identified and deported and we need to stop this luvie duvie business of saving the world, as our own people in the US is in dire need of assistance and an Illegal Immigrant is the last person we should be helping. I’ve donated to the Haitian people because I’m American, and as the world knows, Americans are by far the most generous people on earth, no comparison.

Would I expect the Haitians to help me if they had the means too, well know because more than likely they wouldn’t, but that’s what makes us Americans better than most, we help people that wouldn’t help us in return. Novels to pair with atonement for senior english studies?
As an assignment this year, I am required to do a comparative study on two novels. I have chosen Atonement for the first, but now I need to find a novel with similar themes.

Can anyone suggest a novel I could use as a comparison? Some themes that would be useful are that of betrayal, forgiveness, a novel that repeats scenes in different points of view, any narrative that switches points of view… and, obviously, nothing that would be considered full on trashy novels. (AKA, sadly, chick-lit is a bit out of the question :P)

ANY contribution would be greatly useful. Without suggestions, the only way to discover a similar book would be to read every book I come across and hope I find similar themes.

have you taken your dog to yellowstone national park?
I want to go there this summer, but always travel with my dog, she’s my road trippin partner. I learned that in the US dogs are not allowed more than 100 feet from the car in National Parks. Well, that one any ways. Have you been there with your dog? What did you do? Can you still do lot’s of things? Are there ANY trails you can hike with the dog? I find this bizarre. I live in a national park, and I can bring my dog anywhere, as long as she’s on a leash and I pick up after her…dogs love hiking!!!
Any advice would be great. I heard there is a day kennel near the north entrance, is this feasible? It seems really far from the activities and campgrounds. Let me know if you’ve heard anything about it, or any suggestions!!

I am really considering weight watchers.?
I am 22 years old and considering weight watchers. If I am correct I will be allowed 22 points. My thing is I think I will be obsessed with counting points and trying to see what I can eat. I love food but do not really like to try new things(alternatives). Does anyone have advice??

For anyone who hasnt seen the sequel,

20 years ago, W.O.P.R., a massive super computer in Cheyene Mountain nearly started world war III when a young hacker makes it want to play a nuclear simulation for real.

20 years have passed and WOPR is gone. Stephen Falken has protested any moves to build RIPLY, the newer version of WOPR, which is now housed in Washington Dc.

Its programing is simple, use a series of games, to atract would be terrorists to play simulated attacks on the US and allies. Doing so would get RIPLY attached to their systems, and be able to target them.

A young hacker loves to play games for money and he has just learned of a exciting new game out called Dead Code where he can bet real money. Little does he know, his success in the game gets RIPLY’s attention.

The computer attaches itself to the kid, and the kid will soon be avoiding the cops and the feds, while he takes vacation in Canada.

It includes the return of Stephen Falken, and a showdown between a WOPR who has been reassigned duty running a power station, and a much more advanced RIPLY who is about to gas Philidelphia all because the kid made it go crazzy.

How long after sex till I will get an accurate result on a home pregnancy test?
I had unprotected sex two weeks ago tonight (Sunday). I took plan B the next evening (Monday) and then started on a regular birth control pill the day after (Tuesday). I just want to make sure I’m not pregnant. I know you’re generally supposed to wait till you miss your period, but I won’t know if I’ll miss it until two more weeks from now.

I don’t HAVE to wait till I miss my period, do I? Can I take a test a few days from now and get an accurate result?

I would say you aren’t pregnant, that is what plan b is for.
